If your do not specify any metric, answerdock will use the default metric set for the dataset. Typically the default metric is counting the records in the Dataset. You can change it to any other metric from the Dataset Settings Page
For example, the searches:
Weekly last 10 weeks
Last year by category
Do not specify any metric. AnswerDock in this case will use the default metric to populate the search results.
